image Reduce the saturation of your photos in a unique way. This effect uses two adjustment layers to lower the vibrancy of the photo while preserving some colors.

Low Vibrancy Photoshop Tutorial

Step 1

Open any photo into Photoshop.

Step 2

In the Layers palette, click on the image  button and choose Black & White. If you don't have this, you're probably using Photoshop CS2 or older. In that case, choose Hue/Saturation instead.

Step 3

In the Black & White or Hue/Saturation settings, leave the default settings and click OK.

Step 4

Change the blending mode of the Black & White or Hue/Saturation adjustment layer to Multiply.

This is what our photo currently looks like.

Step 5

Now, choose Layer > Duplicate to create a duplicate of the layer.

Here's what the image looks like now.

Step 6

Double click on each of the adjustment layer and alter the settings. Here, you can customize the settings to get the results that you like. If you like the results you have currently, you don't have to adjust these settings.
